1897 Pattern Sword 8th Battalion The Sherwood Foresters

A very good, pre-WW2 infantry officers sword attributed to an officer in the 8th battalion, the Sherwood Foresters.

Bearing the initials J.R.F.F & the date of 2.6.37 the sword is in fine condition, with hardly a blemish. It is complete with its original frog & leather knot.

I have not done any research into the original owner of the sword. The 8th Battalion were deployed to Norway in April 1940 & suffered heavy losses.

Lovely sword with research potential.
