WW2 German 'Splitterring' smooth fragmentation sleeve for the M24 & M43 grenades.
Originally developed by the SS, it was used by the Heer, SS & Luftwaffe ground troops, being easier & cheaper to produce than the original Army design.
In good condition, with traces of original paint.
