Antique, German mauser K71 cavalry carbine in obsolete 11mm calibre. Good untouched example with ALL matching serial numbers, even down to the screws. Good bright bore, very pleasing 'Tiger Stripe' grained stock.

The butt plate unit marked to the 8th Hussars, the action marked with the manufacture date of 1876 & an issue date of 1877. Steyr produced piece. Much harder to find than the long infantry Gew 71, total production being around 150,000 guns, 60,000 from Steyr.
