WW1 British Army Shooting Prize

WW1 vintage army shooting prize for the 96th training reserve battalion officers & N.C.O's miniature rifle shooting competition of July 1917. Awarded for 2nd place to Sgt J. Russell, it is in good condition, some rubbing. It stands 4" in height.

The 96th training reserve battalion was formed in Sept 1916 from the 17th reserve battalion (Portsmouth) Hampshire regiment & was part of the 22nd reserve brigade, it supplied troops for various battalions of the Hampshire Regt & others.

Nice little piece, worthy of further research.
